Good morning, all! I hope you’ve all had a wonderful start to your week and that it continues for you 🙂 The weather here has been unseasonably warm for this time of year. Usually I’m inside watching the grey skies for snow but the birds have been chirping, the sun has been shining, and its been shorts and flip-flop weather. It makes me quite happy. I’ve been busy working on schoolwork and other crafty things this week so far and thought that I would share one them with you.
With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, I thought I should get some decorating done. So on Monday I visited Hobby Lobby, a craft store that’s only a stone throw away. Among the several things I purchased was a foam wreath form (I always get in trouble in that store. There is always something you have to have). I don’t have photos of the process to make the wreath but I will try my best to describe it to you.
Ta Da!!!! Isn’t it pretty??
After removing the stickers and whatnot from the wreath, I began by hot gluing white yarn down and wrapping it tightly around the form. I’ve seen several yarn wrapped forms that just wrap around all willy-nilly but my OCD won’t let me do that. I made sure that I wrapped the yarn around tightly in a way where each strand was parallel to the next. It’s tedious work but it gives very crisp lines.
When changing color after a section was done, I got glued the new yarn down along with the color that I was just wrapping around the form. After finishing the color changing segments I used a thin Valentine themed ribbon to cover the boarders between the white and the pink. It gave the wreath a crisp loom and worked in some red to match the red felt roses I glued on next.
This is a close up of the color segments and ribbon.
This is a close up of the flowers.
Overall I’m quite pleased with it. Next time I make a wreath, which will be soon, I will make sure to take photos of the process.
Have a wonderful day and stay tuned for a pillow cover and batman update 🙂
